When it comes to special events, such as weddings or important photoshoots, getting your hair done plays a crucial role in creating the perfect look. Many people want to ensure that they look their best on these occasions, which is why having a trial run is essential.
Typically, a trial run for hairstyling is recommended to be done at least a few months before the big day. This allows the client to experiment with different styles and looks, and work with myself to perfect the desired result. It also gives the me a chance to try out different techniques and products, making sure that everything will go smoothly on the actual day.
During the trial run, it’s important to communicate openly with the me about what you’re looking for. Bring along any inspiration photos or reference points that you feel represent your vision for your hair. This will help the me to understand your style and preferences, and provide feedback and suggestions based on their experience and expertise.
Overall, a trial run for hair is a crucial step in ensuring that you look and feel your best for your special event. Scheduling it a few months before the big day is recommended to allow for any necessary adjustments or changes before the final look.
Do I have to have a wedding hair trial ?
Certainly! It is highly recommended that you have a wedding hair trial before your big day. A hair trial allows you to try out different hairstyles and determine which one works best for you. It also gives me as your hairstylist the opportunity to see your hair’s texture, thickness, and length, so they can create the best hair style for your specific hair type. This ensures that on your wedding day, your hair will look exactly as you envisioned it. Additionally, having a hair trial will give you peace of mind, as you won’t need to worry about unwanted surprises on your wedding day. All in all, it is highly recommended, as it helps to ensure that your wedding hair is perfect.

How many people can I work on ?
As a hairstylist, my ability to style my clients’ hair during a morning session would depend on several factors. Some of these factors include the complexity of the hairstyles, the length and thickness of the hair, and the styling techniques.
On average, as a skilled hairstylist I can style between 4 to 5 clients’ hair during a morning session, which typically runs from 8 am to about noon. However, this number may vary depending on the factors mentioned above.
Do I work on my own or do I have a team of hairstylists?
As a potential customer, you may be curious about what sets myself as a hairstylist’s business from others. One of the important factors to consider is whether I work alone or as part of a team. As i work solo, it can mean that I offer a more personalised service and a one-on-one experience where I can give you my full attention and expertise. I do know of plenty of other stylists to help me on hand on the wedding day so i can always arrange some amazing stylists if we need an extra pair of hands on the day.
Products
What hair styling products do I use ?
Hair styling products are essential to achieve the perfect hairstyle, but with so many options on the market, it can be difficult to know which ones to use. To determine what hair styling products would be best for you, start by considering your hair type. If you have fine hair that lacks volume, l have products that provide added texture and lift, such as volumising sprays. For thick or curly hair, consider products that help to tame frizz and define curls, such as smoothing creams and curl-enhancing gels.
If you have straight hair, it’s important to consider the style you want to achieve. For a sleek and smooth look, a straightening balm or serum can help to smooth flyaways and create a shiny finish. If you prefer a more tousled, beachy look, look for sea salt sprays that can add texture and create a “just off the beach” vibe.
When selecting hair styling products, it’s important I choose high-quality products that are free of harmful chemicals. I use brands that use natural and nourishing ingredients like argan oil or coconut oil. These ingredients not only provide great hold and shine, but they also help to moisturise and protect your hair from damage. I use a fabulous range called Maira Nila and WOW Products. Ultimately, the best hair styling products for you depend on your hair type and the look you want to achieve.

How the day starts on the wedding day
Who’s Hair would I work on first on a morning of a wedding ?
As a hairstylist on the morning of a wedding, deciding whose hair to work on first can make or break the day’s schedule. I want to prioritise the bride, of course, as her hair will typically take the longest to style and requires the most attention to detail. However, I to take into consideration the number of bridesmaids and hairstyles that need creating so It’s recommended I start with the bridesmaids who have shorter or simpler hairstyles before moving on to those with more intricate styles. This ensures that the bridesmaids are ready on time without compromising the bride’s timeline. Additionally, if any of the bridesmaids are also partaking in makeup, it may be a good idea to interweave their hair and makeup appointments so that everyone can get ready in an efficient and timely manner. Ultimately, the key is to have a well-planned and organised schedule that takes everyone’s needs into consideration, so everyone can feel comfortable and confident on the big day.
Do I need to have freshly washed hair for it to be styled up?
Whether or not you need to have freshly washed hair for it to be styled up depends on the hair type and the style you want to achieve. For some styles, it’s important to start with freshly washed hair to ensure that the hair is clean and free of any product buildup. This is essential if you’re going for a sleek, polished look, as a buildup of oils and product can make your hair appear greasy and weighed down.
On the other hand, there are some styles that work better on hair that hasn’t been washed recently. This is because freshly washed hair can be too slippery, making it difficult to create texture or hold the style in place. In such cases, you may want to use a dry shampoo or texture spray to add grip and volume to your hair before styling.
Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to wash your hair before styling depends on your hair type, the style you want to achieve, and personal preference. If you’re unsure, it’s always best to consult with me and i can offer expert advice and guidance based on your specific hair needs and goals.
